Design for the blues centre synthesises three key elements. Local industrial roof-shapes, typical scandinavian sawtooth site-setting and architectural flavour of small-scale huts and cottages referring to the places where blues was born. The character of the building is incidental, as blues music is based upon improvisation. Rhythmic speech gives the foundation of blues - the same happens on the building: rhythm and irregular patterns define the mass and surface of it.
