Family house

This building, which stands on the edge of a plot of land, evokes the image of a straightforward, conventional house. The simple exterior design is, however, challenged on the inside. The lack of a traditional attic area and the concentration of rooms to face the garden resulted in a fragmented spatial structure that could almost be lifted from the house’s rigid outer shell. The plasticity of the adjoining triangles is accentuated by the natural light that streams in through the row of elongated skylights that perforate the roof. Meanwhile, the portico adjoins the row of rooms, the covered area clearly delineates the daytime and nighttime functions of the house.
