Thanks to the recent boom in real estate development, the area of Váci út that abuts the project area to the west has seen the construction of a number of imposing office blocks. However, the building of the Opel Schiller car dealership does not fit in with that. Our design thinking focused on a form-related question: how to ensure that the building blends in with the area of the Rákos-patak stream on the other side of the building – a green environment that is to be rehabilitated. We ultimately opted for a meandering block of different heights, rather than a sculptural building. This concept is in keeping with the urban feel of the buildings in Bence utca, which runs through the block and ultimately merges into this green space.
